Staffing
All our
staff are involved in an on-going training programme to ensure
that they are appropriately trained so that they may deliver
a high quality caring service. Key Workers are assigned to
each resident, their role is to give that person holistic
care. The aim of the Key Worker system is to offer each resident
a closer relationship with one member of staff, thereby becoming
a confidant, a friend and special carer. This system aims
to give the resident a greater sense of belonging to their
home and to enable the individual to have more freedom of
choice in the way they live their life. Residents can choose
their own Key Worker. Key Workers can arrange many additional
services that a resident may require such as newspapers, access
to library Facilities and shopping trips.
Our training system has been recognised nationally as one
that provides excellent teaching and supervision. In December
1999. BMS was awarded a National Training Award by the Department
oF Education and Employment.
